Earlier this year, Gasunie conducted market research to assess if there are suitable, sustainable alternatives for helicopter-based monitoring available. This market research showed that Orbital Eye has such an alternative available โ€“ satellite-based monitoring with COSMIC-EYE!

In order to demonstrate how Gasunieโ€™s pipelines can be monitored with COSMIC-EYE, Orbital Eye is currently monitoring three segments of Gasunieโ€™s pipeline network for 6 months, in three different areas in the Netherlands. Not only will these demonstrations be used to showcase the capabilities of satellite-based monitoring, lessons learned during the project will also be used for a potential larger implementation of COSMIC-EYE within Gasunie.
